Applies to non-topping finishing rack type gear-cutting tools of the rectangular mounted type and the inclined mounted type for generating involute spur and single helical gears for general purposes of pitches between 1 and 20 D.P. Rack type cutters are frequently used for cutting gears above 20 D.P., but these are not included in this standard.
