Applies to the lighting of traffic routes within built-up areas, including bridges, tunnels and underpasses, and expressways in so far as they lie within built-up areas. It does not give recommendations for lighting of other than built-up areas, except that, where junctions, intersections or special features of traffic routes are required to be lit in open country, it is recommended that the provisions of This code apply.
