1.1This guide outlines the basic components of a network level pavement management system (PMS).

1.2This guide is intended for use in the management of traveled pavement surfaces, including roads, airfields, and parking lots.

1.3This guide is not a standard method or practice, that is, it is not intended to provide a comprehensive PMS in a user specific application.

1.4This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
