Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to foster uniformity and standardization among engineers engagedin power system operations. This standard is a revision of Part 1 of IEEE Std 346-1973, Glossary ofPower Operations Terms.Terms for reporting and analyzing outages of electrical transmission and distribution facilities andinterruptions to customer service have been deleted. The user should refer to Part 2 of IEEE Std346-1973 for outage reporting terms.

Abstract
