Full Description

Scope

The terms defmed in this stanA-dard apply primarily to ferroelectric materials including single crystals, polycrystalline ceramics, and semi-crystalline polymers. No attempt is made in this standard to define terms related to ferroA- magnetic materials; but because of the coupling that exists between ferroelectric and ferroelastic behavior in some crystalline materials, ferroelastic terms are defined in one section of this standard.

Abstract

New IEEE Standard - Inactive-Withdrawn.Terms applying primarily to ferroelectric materials, including single crystals, polycrystalline ceramics, and semicrystalline polymers, are defined. Because of the coupling that exists between ferroelectric and ferroelastic behavior in some crystalline materials, ferroelastic terms are also defined. When particular terms are related to experimental measurements, the basic measuring techniques are briefly described.
